If you don't already know it. It's colder than a welldigger HUM-DEE-DUMB in Si-beer- ya. How's that for a weather forecast? Our fire place spits smoke into the room every time we try to put a log into it. It's enough to make ya puke. Gramps says there isn't enough up draft to suck the smoke out of the chimmney. My house reeks of smoke. GAG, GAG.
Oh Well. Happy Bowl game day. Hope the Vikings win.

Sorry you have to smell like smoke. Blasted updrafts anyway. I think he should just put an natural gas insert in there and call it quits
If we open our fireplace door too quickly we get smoke in the house too. What we've learned to do is open the door a crack...let the suction of the air from the room go up the chimney...then open the door up and Wah-lah! No Smoke in the house! Try it...you like it! Hee Hee
Mom asked me how you spell "wah-lah" so i did some research and didn't get to her before she posted, but for those of you who are curious...
it is a french word used to express satisfaction or accomplishment and it is spelled "Voilà"
so now you know! (i knew it was spelled with a V and i knew it was french, i just wasn't sure how it was spelled exactly! now we ALL know!)
